The concept for the project is for the house to be constructed out of a series of elements which resemble traditional rural structures, re-interpreted to create a modern but sensitive building. We have taken inspiration from the existing properties in the village of Shabbington as well as building typologies of the country such as the barn and rendered earth wall.
The diagram comprises of a wall surrounding the site, and a timber structure rising above this at one end of the site.
