This 3 storey chandelier was handmade by Edgley Design on site, using 580m of fibre optic cable and slivers of acrylic, as a modern interpretation of a classic cut glass chandelier. The acrylic has a green tint and appears to be glass but is lighter and safer.
During the day the acrylic relects a dancing pattern of light around the walls of the stairwell. At night the acrylic slivers glow with a pale green light
The chandelier is set within a striking staircase- 60mm thick with a gap to the sides that gives the impression of the stairs floating unsupported. The stair is faced top and bottom with walnut, giving a illusion of an imverted stair viewed up from below.
